Two Indian Projects get selected for Asian Cinema Fund
Two Indian projects have been selected for the Asian Cinema Fund of the Busan International Film Festival announced on July 8. Asian Cinema Fund (ACF) is a unified body of production support programs for the worldwide development and promotion of Asian films. A total of 438 projects were considered out of which funding has been granted to 27 projects. 60 Projects were submitted from India.
Peace Haven by Suman Ghosh is one of the 8 projects selected for the ACF 2013 Script Development fund. Second time in a row, Ghosh’s Shyamal Uncle Turns off the Lights was also screened at Busan International Film Festival in 2012.
While there is no Indian project selected for post-production fund. Our Metropolis by Gautam Sonti is one of the 14 projects selected for Asian Network of Documentary (AND) Fund. The documentary captures the transformation of the city-scape of Bangalore over the period 2008-2013. It weaves together agents who are shaping change and those who are contesting it.
