Southern superstar R. Madhavan having been lauded for his performances in Superhits like Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein, Rang De Basanti and 3 Idiots in  Bollywood, is now looking forward to make his mark at the international stage as he has signed his first Hollywood film – ‘Night of the Living Dead : Origins‘.

The film being talked about is going to be directed by Simon West, the man behind Hollywood blockbusters ‘Lara Croft : Tomb Rider’, ‘When A Stranger Calls’, ‘The Mechanic’, ‘The Expendables 2’ etc. It will be a supernatural thriller with four lead characters, one of which will be portrayed by R. Madhavan.

Madhavan informs that if it wasn’t for 3 Idiots, he wouldn’t have got his first Hollywood Film. Apparently, Simon had seen Madhavan in the movie and he liked his performance. And when he started casting for the film, he thought Maddy would be perfect for the part.

The actor says, “I didn’t think this was possible by any stretch of the imagination. West met me and said he liked my performance in ‘3 Idiots’. He was cast-hunting for his next, and said I’d suit the part.”

The film features Madhavan in the role of an Ex-marine officer. The actor has already started prepping up  for his maiden Hollywood film.
