Shah Rukh Khan starer Chennai Express has broken all previous records of box-office collections.  After collecting over 200 crores in the country, the Rohit Shetty film grossed over 100 crores in the overseas market. Chennai Express is the second film to have crossed that mark in overseas market, the first one Amir Khan’s 3 idiots.

Having crossed over 300 crores in India and overseas in only 3 weeks is a feat for Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and Director Rohit Shetty whose last 3 films also broke records crossing the 100 crore mark.

With this success Rohit Shetty  has emerged as the Bollywood’s commercial movie king, he’s  the only director whose four films in recent times including  Singham, Golmaal 3 and Bol Bachchan have made it to the Rs 100 crore club.

Tweeting the box office collection numbers, film trade analyst Taran Adarsh said, “Rohit Shetty becomes most successful director of Hindi cinema: 3 centuries and 1 double century. Four films that feature in 100 cr+ grossers!”

Even after a big release this weekend, Madras Cafe, Chennai Express continues its dream run overseas and it would probably take more than a biggie to seize box office collections.
