New Optimo Style Series Added to Award-Winning Portfolio

Las Vegas, NV– At NAB 2014, Thales Angénieux will highlight the
appeal of their Optimo lenses, capturing the art of cinematography around the world.
Featuring unmistakable performance and unique characteristics, the comprehensive
lens exhibit will allow visitors to see, touch and experience the industry’s leading zoom
lenses.

Debuting at the show is the Optimo Style series of zoom lenses featuring three new
zooms – two hand-held; Optimo Style 16-40 and 30-76 and one full size Optimo Style
25-250 – to support new production needs for the migration to a more cinematic look
with 4K quality. Highlighting Angénieux’s ongoing innovation is the new Optimo
Anamorphic 56-152 mm 2S (2x squeeze) zoom lens for cinemascope production. Long
focal range zoom lenses are showcased with the industry reference Optimo 19.5-94mm,
24-290mm and 28-340mm lenses, while lightweight hand-held lenses are represented
by the Optimo 15-40mm, 28-76mm and 45-120mm lenses. The exhibit also features the
Angénieux Servo Unit (ASU) which provides control of zoom, focus and iris; and the AB
Live system featuring a unique “plug and shoot” 3D solution for live broadcast
applications.

“From our game-changing Optimo Style series to our award-winning zoom lens lineup,
our NAB exhibit showcases the breadth of class-leading optics that makes Thales
Angénieux the market leader,” said Pierre Andurand, President and CEO, Thales
Angénieux. “It’s a culmination of more than 75 years of innovative design and
technology that have set the standard for excellence in both the film and television
industries – and now in a wide spectrum of productions including feature films, TV
series, sports and cultural event recordings, music videos and commercials.”

The Optimo Style 16-40mm and 30-76mm zoom lenses are extremely lightweight at
only 4.2 pounds each, allowing perfect camera balance for on the shoulder or handheld
configurations. The Optimo Style 25-250mm lens, weighing 16 pounds, is an all purpose
zoom featuring the desirable 25mm wide angle position and a 10x zoom range
to meet a variety of production needs. This lens was previously introduced at IBC 2013
branded Optimo DP.

The first of the Angenieux anamorphic lenses to be introduced, the light and compact
Optimo Anamorphic 56-152 mm 2S (2x squeeze) zoom lens lends a film-like,
dimensional character to images with lower distortion than other anamorphic zoom
lenses. With 2x squeeze, a fast aperture of T:4 and no ramping, the Optimo Anamorphic
56-152mm 2S delivers stunning optical performance. Angenieux will be showing a
prototype of their Optimo Anamorphic 30-72mm 2S at IBC 2014, with a third
anamorphic lens to follow.

The Optimo 19.5-94mm, 24-290mm and 28-340mm long focal range zoom lenses
have quickly become an industry standard, delivering impressive contrast and color
reproduction. They are the perfect lenses for high-end productions requiring speed,
precision, dependability and superior optical results. Both the Optimo 19.5-94mm and
28-340 mm lenses perfectly fit the latest new generation large sensor digital cameras.
The Optimo 15-40mm, 28-76mm, 45-120mm hand-held zoom lenses feature high
performance characteristics that include fast aperture, no ramping and minimal to no
breathing. The combined focal length of 15mm to 120mm grants unmatched versatility
within the most usable focal range, while reducing production time and cost.

Angénieux’s 1.4x and 2x Optimo extenders are an ideal way of increasing focal length
at a cost effective price without sacrificing anything to the original quality of the lens.
The focal length is multiplied by 1.4x or 2x with only one or two T-stop loss at full
aperture.

An option for all light weight Optimo or Optimo Style lenses, the Angénieux Servo Unit
(ASU) provides control of zoom, focus and iris and is compatible with broadcast remote
handles, cinema remote controls and wireless remotes. It generates lens metadata
based on the Cooke/i technology protocol. To help ensure flawless performance, the
ASU and lenses are matched and calibrated at the factory.

The AB Live system is a joint creation by Thales Angénieux and Binocle 3D that offers
a unique “plug and shoot” 3D solution for live broadcast applications.
