‘Badki-Chutki’ or ‘India-Pakistan’? An interesting take on sisterhood ~ ‘Pataakha’
After giving us absolute hits like Haider, Maqbool, Ishqiya, Kaminey and more, writer-director Vishal Bhardwaj shows promise with his upcoming film ‘Pataakha‘.
Based on a short story titled ‘Do Behenein‘ by Charan Singh Pathak, the film stars Sanya Malhotra and Radhika Madan as the two sisters, Sunil Grover, Saanand Verma and Vijay Raaz.
While you must be familiar with Sanya Malhotra after her outstanding performance in Dangal, Radhika Madan will be making a Bollywood debut with the film. She has worked previously as an Indian television actress.
‘Pataakha’ ( meaning Firecracker ) seems to revolve around the two sisters, Badki and Chutki who grow up in a village in Rajasthan. The two are seen sharing a difficult relationship where they find themselves to be constantly at war with each other, which takes a twisted turn once they are married into the same family!
