Pooja Bhatt tries to reignite the flagging Indian erotic thriller genre with ‘a cop, an assassin and a femme fatale’ ploy in Jism 2. Rich in images of feminine and masculine sensuality put together with some dextrous camerawork, Jism 2 has Sunny Leone playing a compelling combination of the damsel in distress and the irresistible seductress. One needs to see whether Bhatt’s feminine gaze alters or brings in innovation into facets of the male-centred erotica genre and gives it that much needed fillip in theme and form. The gripping intrigue in the plot and the rather deep, charming music that has a strong mass-appeal make it worth a watch too.
