‘Tu’ is a short film that revolves around an encounter of a man with his own spirit. Starring Prashantt Guptha who was seen in the famed film ‘Neerja’, it sends across an important message to each individual trying to make it in the big city. The film is written and directed by Sandeep Chandrra and will be released on 2nd October, the day we collectively know of as Gandhi Jayanti.
Born and raised in New York, Prashantt hails originally from Rajasthan and is now a resident of Mumbai. He has been featured in many Bollywood films and is now a partner in a Hollywood film development company called Mulberry. He prides himself as a published poet, an actor, singer and a humble family man. Before ‘Neerja’, he was seen in ‘Irada’ as a 30′ something man battling cancer, co-starring Naseeruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi.
Interestingly, ‘Tu’ is a single location and single act project that is bound to leave its mark in precisely 17 minutes. As seen in the trailer, it involves a young man struggling to place his himself in the pursuit of life.
The trailer leaves us with a hard-hitting reminder quoted by The Father of our nation, Mahatma Gandhi, ” As human beings, our greatness lies not so much in being able to remake the world, as in being able to remake ourselves.” It will be available to watch on the Youtube channel HumaraMovie which is a platform for short films with over 600,000 subscribers.
