Celluloid is not restricted to movies alone with actors now willing to experiment with other formats too. One of the first actors to start this trend and be part of a web series was Ali Fazal, who was part of YRF’s Bang Baaja Baaraat.

The actor played a groom-to-be alongside Angira Dhar and managed to tickle funny bones in this rom-com.

Ali will soon also be seen in yet another interesting web initiative. The actor who is currently shooting for Aanand L Rai’s production Happy Bhaag Jayegi along with Diana Penty and Abhay Deol will feature in a series directed by Ayush Raina and produced by Eros.

Confirming the same, Ali says, “This wonderfully crafted piece of writing came my way after my successful stint with Yashraj. It is a story based in Goa, on the lines of the Goan mafia. I draw parallels with The Godfather and Narcos. It fits our Indian scenario and the Goan scene. Goa isn’t just about tourism and happy faces. There is a lot of history in there and some of it might be up for exploitation in this series. The roles have been beautifully distributed amongst great actors. Playing the lead in a madcap 10 episodic series is a heavy graph to maintain. So we went into a lot of prep for it. My director is my guru, and I look forward to joining the crew back after I wrap Aanand Rai’s film.”

From the sound of the concept, it looks like we will get to see the dynamic actor in a brand new avatar.
