Suchitra Film Society brings in an opportunity for filmmakers to showcase their talent.  The film society has invited short film entries from professionals and students across the globe for the three-day annual Bangalore International Short Film Festival in its fourth edition scheduled to be held from August 22 – 24 this year.

The genre for this year’s edition of the fest is fiction, festival mentor Prakash Belawadi said on Tuesday. “Short film festivals have acquired a greater importance, eliciting a good response across the world. The event aims at exposing young directors to the global film culture,” he said.

Anand Varadraj, secretary of the film society, said that several international organizations from Poland, Germany and New York have not only confirmed their participation, but would also give their expert opinions on film making. Filmmakers and students from across the world have been invited to send their entries which would be curated by industry experts and screened at the Bangalore International Short Film society in Bangalore. The film should be of a duration of 30 minutes and submitted in DVD format, he said.
