Chitra Bharti National Film Festival opens
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan inaugurated 3-day Chitra Bharti National Film Festival at Indore. The Chief Minister said that the society needs films with purposefulness and showing right direction to youths. Films are not mere source of entertainment, but also big means of education and people learn a lot of things from films. The freedom of expression if our age-old tradition. But insult to nation in the name of freedom of speech will not be tolerated. Madhya Pradesh is not a backward and sick state. Its growth rate is in double digits continuously for last many years. Madhya Pradesh is pioneer in the country in irrigation and energy sectors”
Special efforts are also being made in Madhya Pradesh in solar energy sector. Film actor Manoj Joshi, filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri, Dilip Awasthi and Rakesh Mittal also spoke on the occasion. At the function, Sanskrit film producer Vinod Mankar was also felicitated. The festival screening films on social concerns and human sufferings will be held at Indore till February 28.
Organised by Bhaiyyaji Dani Sewa Nyas, Indore, over 200 films of 8 states under various categories are being screened in the festival. Mayor Malini Gaud, Vice Chancellor of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya Ashutosh Mishra, filmmaker Laxman Nawathe and Dr. Praveen Kabra were also present on the occasion. Films declared best will also be awarded at the film festival.
