An outstanding actor, Deepak Dobriyal has become a household name now. He has played some memorable roles in movies like ‘Omkara’, ‘Tanu Weds Manu’, ‘Hindi Medium’ and many more. The actor will now be seen playing the intense role of Kuldip Patwal in Remy Kohli’s ‘Kuldip Patwal: I Didn’t Do It!’. Along with Deepak Dobriyal the film stars Gulshan Devaiah and Raima Sen in prominent roles. When asked Deepak Dobriyal on what convinced him to be a part of the movie he said, “This is a different kind of film. It is a political thriller, but the way the story is told is different. Also, the cast is interesting, and it was great working with them.”
Deepak Dobriyal plays the role of a common man who is thrown in the jail for murdering the state’s chief minister. Talking about his role, Deepak Dobriyal shared, “This is a prominent role, and everything happens around him. The film is a mystery and there are many revelations made, so you have to see the movie to understand what the character undergoes. Also, everyone’s point of view is shown. The movie explores what each character is thinking, what they are feeling. So, there are different perspectives in the film.”
The film is inspired by true events, but Deepak Dobriyal did not have to do much research for the role. “The writing was done so well that I didn’t have to do much.” He further adds, “We concentrated on the script alone because the research was done well by Remy Kohli and Rahul Ramchandani. It was great working on the film, we did everything with a new perspective, which was great. We had the liberty to take the film anywhere we wanted, so we took advantage of that freedom.”
Lastly discussing his future projects Deepak Dobriyal stated, “One of the films is Hardik Mehta’s Kaamyaab, which also has Sanjay Mishra and it will be made under Drishyam Films. After that, I am going to be doing a Navdeep Singh’s film.”
