The legendary Gulzar has penned Mausam Beghar Hone Lage Hai, a poem on Climate Change, which forms the theme of Drishyam Films’ next, the National-Award winning Kadvi Hawa. The video of Mausam Beghar Hone Lage Hai was launched yesterday by Drishyam Films on their YouTube channel.

The veteran lyricist and poet was moved after watching the award winning filmmaker Nila Madhab Panda’s directorial and wrote the poem as a tribute to the film and its theme.

The poem talks about how mankind’s greed for development has led it to destroy trees, rivers and other natural resources Mother Earth has gifted us with. It also aims to inspire people to act on the issue of climate change and save the earth before it is too late. As the nation’s capital grapples with its worst public health emergency in the form of a deathly smog cover, the film could not have come out at a more relevant time to make people realize the true effects of climate change.

Nila Madhab Panda, the director of Kadvi Hawa who was moved by the legendary Gulzar’s noble gesture says, I feel extremely humbled and privileged that a legend like Gulzar Saab has offered his support to our film and its causeHis support will make more people aware about the issue of climate change, which is getting increasingly relevant with each passing day thanks to incidents like the Delhi Smog.

Manish Mundra, the founder of Drishyam Films and producer of Kadvi Hawa, agrees “We are very grateful to Gulzar Saab for believing in our film and our cause. Kadvi Hawa is an important film about one of the most pressing and urgent issues of the world today – climate change. With Gulzar Sir’s beautifully evocative poetry being a part of the film, we are hopeful that its message will now reach to an even wider audience. Citizens and policymakers both need to realize that the time to act is now!”
