After a long battle with the Censor Board, Konkona Sensharma and Ratna Pathak Shah starrer “Lipstick Under My Burkha” has finally got a release date! Directed by Alankrita Shrivastava, the Prakash Jha production will release on July 28.

Producer Ekta Kapoor has come on-board as presenter and pan-India distributor of the film.

The film was in a long battle with the Censor Board which refused to certify it citing ‘sexual scenes and abusive words’. Lipstick Under My Burkha was finally cleared by the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal (FCAT), which gave it an A – certificate.

Lipstick Under My Burkha was also chosen as an officially qualifying screening for the Golden Globe Awards.
