Lusophone Film Festival, the Portuguese film festival  is going to be held in Goa this year as well, starting from December 12 till December 17, 2014.

A total of 11 films will be screened during the 6th edition of the Lusophone film festival in Goa, briefing the media, the consul general of Portugal, Rui Carvalho Baceira, said that the Semana da Cultura Indo-Portuguesa (Goa) is organizing the film festival in which, Mozambique will be the country of focus.

The opening film of the festival will be a Mozambique film Another man’s garden (O Jardim do Outro Homem) by Sol de Carvalho. The festival will showcase films from the Lusophone regions such as Mozambique, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau, Portugal, Brazil and Angola. All the movies will be screened with English sub-titles.

The other movies to be screened are Virgin Margarida by Licinio Azevedo (Mozambique), Muvart by Jose Nhantumbo (Mozambique), Journey to Portugal by Sergio Trefaut (Portugal), This side of resurrection by Joaquim Sapinho (Portugal), Jose Carlos Schwarz by Adulai Jamanca (Guinea Bissau), The Great Kilapy by Zeze Gambao (Angola/Brazil/Portugal), The Death of Carlos Gardel by Solveig Nordlund (Portugal), Batuque by Julio Silvao Tavares (Cape Verde), The Last Flight of the Flamingo by Joao Ribeiro (Portugal/Mozambique) and Our Father’s Land by Fabio Ribeiro (Mozambique).

The festival is being organized in collaboration with the Portuguese Consulate, Centre for Portuguese Language and Culture of Parvatibai Chowgule college, Margao, Camoes – Instituto da Cooperacao e da Lingua and INAC.
