Ramdhanu to open Children’s Film Festival
Ramdhanu, a film by Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy will be the opening film at the 14th International Children’s Film Festival, which starts from Thursday at Nandan.
The film, starring Gargi Roychoudhury, Rachna Banerjee, Akash Neel Mitra and Shiboprosad, has been receiving great critics review.
Upon getting the news, Shiboprasad said “I am overwhelmed, as Akash Neel will light the inaugural lamp. In fact, Ramdhanu is the only Indian entry and that too, as the inaugural film at the fest, which will also feature films from China, Denmark, France and Korea. The shows will be open to all children and hope these will be enjoyed by the children. It should also help draw the attention of the film industry towards children’s films. We need more family dramas and children’s film like Damu, Haathi Mere Saathi etc.”
That apart, the director is happy that his film Icche has been watched and appreciated by director Karan Malhotra. “He loved the film and he is trying to show it to Karan Johar. Let’s see how things fall into place,” said Shiboprosad with a smile.
