Actress-director Revathi, the 47-year-old who directed critically acclaimed Hindi movie Phir Milenge with Shilpa Shetty, Salman Khan and Abhishek Bachchan in the lead roles of late has most often been busy with her southern projects.

The latest news on Revathi is that she would be seen in the the screen adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s national bestseller 2 States, the story of a young Punjabi boy who happens to fall for a Tamil girl and intends to marry her following the cross-cultural inhibitions and drama between the two families.

Alia Bhatt will be seen opposite actor Arjun Kapoor while Alia would be seen as the Tamil Girl, Arjun Kapoor will play the young Punjabi lad.

Grapevine says, She will be seen in a prominent role in ’2 States’ and one schedule has already been shot. She is quite happy with the project.

The film is being directed by Abhishek Verman and co-produced by Karan Johar and Sajid Nadiadwala under their respective banners Dharma Productions and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.

Seen in Hindi movies Love and Raat, Revathi is reportedly playing Alia’s Tamilian mother.
