Shlok Sharma’s ZOO to travel to BUSAN
Zoo selected for A Window on Asian Cinema at Busan International Film Festival 2017
Director Shlok Sharma’s upcoming film Zoo, India’s first feature length movie shot entirely on an IPhone has been selected for “A Window on Asian Cinema” at the Busan International Film Festival. Written by Shilpa Srivastava & Shlok Sharma, the film stars Shweta Tripathi & Shashank S Arora.
A guilt-ridden drug-addicted teenager. A drug-peddling waiter and his younger brother. And 2 Dharavi rappers, who are fans of Tupac and BIG, who want to change the world in their naivety. Shot all over Mumbai’s neighborhoods, Zoo is a visit to the lives of those who are trapped in their own hell.
When the film’s rushes were shown to Apple CEO Tim Cooks on his India visit, he was extremely surprised to know that the film was entirely shot on his company’s premier phone.
With Zoo, Cinematographer Rangarajan Ramabadran also becomes the first Indian cinematographer to have shot an entire film on Iphone.
Shlok, Shilpa, Shweta & Shashank are regulars at international film festivals across the globe with their films Haraamkhor, Masaan & Titli respectively. Incidentally, Shweta Tripathi will be in Paris a day before heading to Busan with Shlok’s debut feature Haraamkhor, co-starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, for yet another film festival.
Producer Anurag Kashyap’s earlier films including Gangs of Wasseypur have also been a part of the festival at Busan.
Zoo will be a part of the film festival season back home in India after Busan.
