The occasion also saw the unveiling of the poster of ‘Cynthia’.

The trailer of one of the most highly anticipated Goan films, ‘Cynthia’, was recently launched amid much fanfare at a press conference held at The International Centre Goa in Dona Paula.

The event also saw the unveiling of the poster of the film in the presence of the chief guest, Director of Art and Culture, Government of Goa – Mr Gurudas Pilarnekar and his wife. The cast and crew of the film were present at the occasion. ‘Cynthia’ is slated to be the world’s first Konkani horror – mystery feature film.

While addressing the media at the press conference, film Cynthia’s writer, director and lead actor, Elvis Kahn Fernandes said, “The genre of horror mystery has not been attempted in Goan cinema before. We have not only broached this challenging genre, but have gone all out to present in front of the audience the product of our labour that is sure to change people’s perspective of looking at Goan films. Some of India’s most talented and skilled technicians have worked on various departments of the film, and we have also used an advanced post-production technology to give the film an international feel. I hope everyone in Goa and the Goan diaspora across the world loves the film as much as we do and show us the love and support that we need to take Goan cinema to greater heights.”

While speaking to the media, the producer of the film, Joseph M Lobo said, “When Elvis came to me with the idea of the film I was absolutely sold on the concept but I also knew that it would be a herculean task for any filmmaker to pull off given the limitations one faces in Konkani cinema but I had complete faith in Elvis’ vision. Now that I’ve seen the film all I’ll say is that Elvis has definitely taken the standard of Konkani cinema to a whole new level.”

The genre of horror mystery has never been attempted in Goa cinema till now. However, Goa Global Productions, a Goan film production house, is all set to change that with its debut offering – Cynthia, the world’s first Konkani horror mystery feature film that is slated to hit the theatres worldwide. The film has been shot in scenic locales across Goa. Elvis Kahn Fernandes’ catchy music is sure to strike a chord with the Goan hearts. The film stars Maya Kalsi in the lead role of ‘Cynthia’. The film stars prominent Goan actors such as Gauri Kamat, Kunal Malarkar, Fermino Goes, Faith Barretto and Prince Jacob in crucial roles.
