Nishtha Jain’s Gulabi Gang is winning hearts and awards all around the world. The film won the First Amnesty International Best Human Rights Film Award at Tri-continental Film Festival, South Asia. The festival happened in South African cities of Johannesburg, Cape Town and Pretoria from September 13 to 29, 2013.

The film won among the pool of 10 other films with whom it was competing. The Tri-continental Film Festival screens powerful films from South Africa and other parts of the world with the motive of exploring urgent local and global issues that are crucial. The festival was judged by award winning jury of different occupations including journalists, activists and artists.

Prior to winning this award Gulabi Gang also won the Amnesty Award at the 10th edition of PLANETE+ DOC FILM FESTIVAL in Poland.

The film will also be screened at Dharamshala International Film festival; Jean Rouch International film festival, Paris; Tempo India film festival, Stockholm, SF International South Asian film Festival, San Francisco.
