18th IFFK to celebrate technology involved in cinema!
As the 18th International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) is set to begin on December 6, the film festival celebrating centenary of Indian cinema is also presenting a tribute to the evolution of technology in 100 years from 1913 to 2013, involved in giving cinema a form it is today!
An exhibition, beginning from December 7 to December 13, will display the pictures of technical filmmaking equipment ranging from Kinetograph used in initial days of cinema to the latest digital movie camera. The exhibition is divided in four sections i.e camera, sound recording, editing and projection. Sound Recording section is again divided into two categories i.e music composing and dubbing along with the photographers.
The frames will also features the history of the 17th century projector Magic Lantern to the much lapped up digital projection system.
Art director Sabu Pravadas has curated the exhibition for the fifth time in a row as part of the festival. He is also a member of the display and exhibition committee of the festival. He also revealed that one would also get to see the real equipment being displayed at the exhibition.
