With the Oscar fever at an all-time high Academy award winners Kate Winslet, Octavia Spencer and two time Academy award nominee Naomi Watts will be seen taking each other on in the highly anticipated sci-fi- adult action flick Insurgent. Leading the pack of Insurgents would be none other than Bafta and Golden Globe nominee Shailene Woodley who became an overnight teen sensation with 2014 record breaking romantic drama The Fault in Our Stars.

The sequel to the 2014 film Divergent, Insurgent also stars Theo James (won teen choice and people’s choice award for Divergent), Jai Courtney, Ray Stevenson, Zoë Kravitz and Miles Teller (of Whilpash fame) among others.

Insurgent will be releasing on March 20, in many cities in India including Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Gurgaon, Noida and Chandigarh.

Insurgent, an adaptation of the second book in the Divergent series by author Veronica Roth takes the plot a step with the protagonist Beatris Prior (Woodley) who’s up against a powerful enemy that threatens to tear her world apart.
Directed by Robert Schwentke who gave us Flightplan with Demi Moore, Insurgent promises a thrilling, edge of the seat experience for young adults just as the book, which won Veronica Roth the title of the Favorite Young Adult Fantasy & Science Fiction and Author of 2012.

This 3-D thriller has Kate Winslet playing Jeanine, the vicious leader of the power-hungry erudite elite, while Woodley with her close confidants will be seen battling it out with Winslet in order to save her world and the people in it.

Produced by Summit Entertainment which gave us ace movies like Mr. and Mrs.Smith, Memento, The legend of Hercules, The Twilight Series, The Step Series, The Perks of Being a Wallflower among others, the makers are already on floors with the third film in the Divergent Series called Allegiant- Part 1

THE DIVERGENT SERIES: Insurgent raises the stakes for Tris as she searches for allies and answers in the ruins of a futuristic Chicago. Tris (Woodley) and Four (James) are now fugitives on the run, hunted by Jeanine (Kate Winslet), the leader of the power-hungry Erudite elite.  Racing against time, they must find out what Tris’s family sacrificed their lives to protect, and why the Erudite leaders will do anything to stop them.  Haunted by her past choices but desperate to protect the ones she loves, Tris, with Four at her side, faces one impossible challenge after another as they unlock the truth about the past and ultimately the future of their world.
