MISAFF(Mosaic International South Asian Film Festival) features the best of new South Asian and select Middle Eastern film titles for Mississauga and region cinephiles. MISAFF features ground-breaking and award-winning films, carefully curated for their cinematic excellence and social consciousness.

MISAFF is a landmark film festival in Canada. Canadian film artists Ali Kazimi, Sami Khan, Angad Bhalla, Amar Wala, Anita Majumdar, Raymond Ablack, Gabe Grey, Shireen Pasha and Richie Mehta are some of the people who have been involved in the festival over the years.

In 2012 we showcased the long form version of Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy’s Oscar winning film Saving Face. In 2013, Mira Nair masterpiece The Reluctant Fundamentalist enjoyed a sold-out audience. We also made waves with the world premiere of the hit Pakistani film Zinda Bhaag (Run For Your Life) which went on to become Pakistan’s entry into the Oscars and snagged the Best Picture award at MISAFF (recently released on iTunes USA). MISAFF1 4 winners included Noor (best picture/ actor), Meet the Patels (audience choice award), SECRET TRIAL 5 (best documentary), Tomorrow We Disappear  (honorable mention by the jury) and Nous Avions(Time Flies- best short). Filmmaker and actor Rajat Kapoor presented his latest film Ankhon Dekhi on opening night and Ali Kazimi commemorated the 100 years of the Komagata Maru with his film presentation of critically acclaimed documentary CONTINUOUS JOURNEY.

MISAFF15 will bring award-winning titles and celebrities from Canada and around the world. Cutting edge films will be presented over a period of four days.
