MAMI has witnessed a paradigm shift in various aspects this year. Mumbai’s most awaited and significant film festival has an all new management and a fascinating programming line up ready to enthrall the public. Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival promises to be bigger and better in its 17th year.

And leading from the front is filmmaker Kiran Rao who has taken over the reigns as Chairperson of the festival. Known for championing indie cinema, the filmmaker aims to make MAMI more valuable for Indian filmmakers and showcase the best of Indian and International cinema on this brilliant platform.

We met with the filmmaker at the MAMI Press Conference where she spoke at length about the changing face of MAMI, the new segments introduced this year, the expectations from the festival, response from various quarters and more.
