Anees Bazmee set to direct ‘Aankhen’ sequel

The makers of the 1993 hit film Aankhen are back and plan to make a sequel.  The writer of the original film, Anees Bazmee will direct the sequel that has been titled ‘Aankhen Char’. It will be produced by Pahlaj Nihalani.

Apparently, Nihalani has been toying with the idea of making a sequel to his blockbuster Aankhen for quite a while, and it’s only now that he has signed Anees.

Though the film may be quite similar to the original, the script will be tweaked featuring both the heroes in double roles. However, the cast of the film is yet to be finalized. The original was directed by David Dhawan – the master of the comedy genre and starred Govinda in a double role.

Bazmee’s other film – the ‘No Entry’ sequel has been postponed until next year. ‘Aankhen’ sequel will go on the floors in August this year.
