As a debut filmmaker, there is a lot that one learns during their maiden filmmaking venture. These learnings grow with time and help you perfect your skills. Here are a few handy tips for all those first-time filmmakers.

Writing a script is the most important and life-threatening part of the film, it’s scary because you have to face your fears and do it by yourself, without the support of a cast and crew.

Make sure you keep writing, keep rewriting, until the time you’re convinced. Once you have a great script, half the battle is won.

Filmmaking is also all about taking risks, so don’t develop several scripts at once (especially for a first-time filmmaker). Write one script you really believe in, and have the conviction to risk your life for it.
