Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone’s Om Shanti Om is all set for a release in Japan. Directed by Farah Khan, the blockbuster film will begin theatrical screening in the region, five years after its original release. Bollywood fans recently staged a flash mob in Tokyo dancing to the movie’s soundtrack composed Vishal-Shekhar.

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Ek Tha Tiger recently had its Japanese premiere, attended by director Kabir Khan. The movie renamed in Japan as Tiger-The Legendary Spy won applause from the 300 strong Japanese and Indian viewers who were present at the event and it was clear that Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif and the tunes of the popular song Mashallah had won the audiences’ heart!

Ek Tha Tiger premiered in Japan with the collaboration of Yash Raj Films and Nikkatsu Cooperation and it will be released in 30 screens across the country.

Till now, the Japanese film industry has kind of remained untouched by Bollywood. But a wide number of Indian films are now scheduled to release in Japan over the next few months, including Don 2, Jab Tak Hai Jaan and 3 Idiots.

Om Shanti Om releases in Japan on March 16.
