Victoria & Abdul, Ali Fazal’s debut Hollywood movie as a lead with Academy Award-winning actress Dame Judi Dench, is currently traveling across the globe. It has been receiving rave reviews for its story and performances including much praise for Ali.

During the film’s launch, it was mentioned how the team went through almost everyone from Bollywood to Hollywood to cast the perfect face for the character of Abdul. Ali outshone not just his Bollywood counterparts but Hollywood actors as well.

After a long list of actors auditioned for this role, two names were shortlisted, one being Ali while the other one was Dev Patel. Dev was last seen in the Lion where his performance was highly appreciated. So, it came as a pleasant surprise when Ali beat Dev to bag this lead.

Now all eyes are on the actor to see how he creates magic on screen as Abdul.
