The International Documentary Film Festival Munich also known as the DOK.fest takes place annually, since 1985 in Munich. The festival focuses on the socially relevant and artistically valuable documentaries. DOK.fest Munich is one of the largest festivals for documentary films in Europe. The international program includes three relevant competition sections and eight awards (2.500 to 10.000 Euros). In 2015, the festival celebrated a new record of 35.000 visitors.

For the coming DOK.fest, interested filmmakers, production and distribution labels are invited to submit their current documentary films for the 31st festival. The films should be longer than 52 minutes, which must have been completed after January 1st 2015 and must not have been shown in German public television yet.

DOK.fest also includes the industry and young DOK.forum platform , the children and youth program DOK.education and the festival in the region DOK.tour. For the School program, professional short films (10 to 30 minutes) showing powerful stories about kids and adolescents (8 to 18 years), told in an artistic and creative way are being expected.

The submission deadlines for DOK.fest is December 18th, 2015 and for the DOK.education is December 14th, 2015.
