Davy Chou’s Diamond Island and Haobam Paban Kumar’s Lady of the Lake took home the Golden Gateway Award for Best Film in the International Competition and India Gold competition respectively at the 18th edition of the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival with Star.

The winner of the Silver Gateway award at the international competition was Godless by Ralitza Petrova while Natalia Almada’s Everything Else won the special jury prize.

In the India Gold competition, the Silver Gateway went to Satish and Satosh Babusenan’s The Narrow Path and the special jury prize was given to The Hidden Corner by Jaicheng Jai Dohutia.

Alankrita Shrivastava won the Oxfam Award for Best Film on Gender Equality for Lipstick Under my Burkha while Konkona Sensharma was awarded the Best Indian Female Filmmaker Award for her directorial debut A Death in the Gunj that was the opening film at the Jio MAMI 18th Mumbai Film Festival with Star.

In the Dimensions Mumbai section, the Golden Gateway was awarded to Mumbai Mahuwa by Santosh Kamble while the Silver Gateway was given to Tabu Kaariya’s Ajeeb Dastan Hai Yeh. Yashwardhan Goswami’s Bombai won a special mention.

Asghar Farhadi’s The Salesman won the Audience choice award.

The awards were announced at the star-studded Closing Ceremony of the festival which took place at Rang Mandir in Bandra. The festival screened 175 movies, including features, documentaries and shorts from 54 countries.
