Written & Directed by National Film Award-winning director Hardik Mehta

In a city of millions, every day after work, a man and a woman meet each other. They turn their backs to the city and let the sea be witness to their relationship. But this affair can only last for a few minutes, since back at their homes someone waits for them.

That is the stirring premise of filmmaker Hardik Mehta’s latest short The Affair, an affectionate and tender-hearted love story that every Mumbai couple will relate to. Mehta won the National Film Award for Amdavad Ma Famous last year.

The Affair is produced by Manish Mundra of Drishyam Films and Akanksha Tewari from Bhaand-A-Part Productions. It stars Amit Sial (Inside Edge and Titli fame), Khushboo Upadhyay and Mahi Sadhwani.

This is Drishyam Films’ second short after their mystery thriller Paroksh, which garnered more than 3 million views online. The award-winning studio plans to release three to four short films a year on their YouTube channel.

Talking about The Affair, Hardik, who has also worked on films such as Lootera and Queen, says “The inspiration for the film is Mumbai and its unique facet where couples face away from the city and face the sea when they meet. So, no one but the sea is witness to all these affairs. I’m absolutely thrilled to collaborate with Drishyam on this film and can’t wait to hear what our audience has to say about it.”

Manish Mundra, the founder-producer of Drishyam Films says, “The Affair is a sweet contemporary film which is bound to strike a chord with Mumbai couples. While it is set here, I’m sure it will resonate with couples in metropolitan cities all over the world.”
