Both of Drishyam Films’ upcoming home productions, Amit Masurkar’s Newton starring Rajkummar Rao and Atanu Mukherjee’s Rukh starring Manoj Bajpayee are at the NFDC Film Bazaar 2016. The films, which were submitted to the Viewing Room, are among the selected 32 in Film Bazaar Recommends.

While Atanu Mukherjee’s debut feature Rukh was a part of the inaugural Drishyam-Sundance Screenwriters Lab 2015, Newton, the second feature of Amit V Masurkar (of Sulemani Keeda fame) was part of the Co-Production Market (CPM) at Film Bazaar 2015.

Newton starring Rajkummar Rao is about a rookie clerk on election duty in a conflict-ridden jungle of Central India, who tries his best to conduct free and fair voting despite the apathy of security forces and the looming fear of a guerrilla attack by Communist rebels.

Atanu Mukherjee’s Rukh starring Manoj Bajpayee  is about the journey of a boy rediscovering his lost connections and familial ties, through the secrets and memories he must confront on his way. The movie is inspired by Akira Kurosawa’s thriller film Rashomon.

32 FBR films including 5 feature docus and 27 fiction features in 14 languages will pitch their trailers in the ‘Investor’s Pitch’ at 10th NFDC Film Bazaar 2016 will be held at Marriott, Goa from November 20-24

Film Bazaar Recommends, as the name suggests, are feature length films recommended specially by the Film Bazaar team from among the film submissions to the Viewing Room. The Film Bazaar Recommends feature 32 films out of 164-feature length films (131 fiction features and 33 documentaries) submitted to the Viewing Room this year.
