What made you choose Pocket Mummy as your comeback film?

I did Pocket Mummy because it is directed by Nitesh Ranglani and I’ve worked with his father twenty years ago. His father Vijay K Ranglani was the producer of one of my films called Yeshwant, which released in 1997.

Acting is my passion so it doesn’t matter if it’s a regular film or a short film

What is the message that this short film conveys?

Pocket Mummy gives you a very important message of tough love and how we need to empower our kids. Privileged children with a sense of entitlement really do end up wasting their life with no purpose, and rules are an essential message to give.

How was it working with directing Nitesh Ranglani and actor Parzan Dastur?

I like to associate with fresh, young talent and support them in whichever way I can. So Nitesh and Parzan are the sweetest young people I met recently with dreams in their eyes. And I really liked that. I was there to see their start and I know that they will go far.

That little nervous energy that I experience is a great sign because I take nothing for granted

Would you like to do more short films? If yes, why? What is the most exciting part about this medium?

Yes, I would like to do more short films. I simply would love to do movies all the time. That’s my purpose and joy.

What kept you away from films for so long?

When I decided to start a family, I intentionally stayed away from films. But very soon I realized that whether I work or not, I am an actress always. Now I am ready as my girls are young ladies. Therefore I can definitely work now. The best part is that I carry a reputation of being a good actress. So I enjoy great respect.

Is it tough to get back after a break, did you ever feel that you have lost touch?

I completely left the industry once. So yes, getting back after such a long break has not been the easiest. That little nervous energy that I experience is a great sign because I take nothing for granted. I am sincere and ready for dedicated hard work.

What next?

I love my life and feel the same emotion for any screen space I indulge in. Acting is my passion so it doesn’t matter if it’s a regular film or a short film. I’ll give my 1000 percent.
