Ritesh Batra’s Lunchbox and Pete Travis’ Dredd will screen at one of the oldest film festivals in the world, the prestigious 48th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival to be held in Czech Republic from June 28-July 6, 2013.

The festival will open with Michel Gondry’s Mood Indigo starring Audrey Tatou and Romain Duris. Ritesh Batra’s Dabba (Lunchbox), an India-France-Germany co-production will be screened in the “Horizons” section that presents recent productions from major festivals. Lunchbox screened at Cannes film festival in the International Critics’ Week sidebar.

“Are you fed up with depressing social dramas? Then don’t miss a funny, elegant, and optimistic romance set in contemporary Mumbai. This properly “spiced” story of lost lunchboxes that engineer a love affair between attractive Ila and aging Saajan might have come from the well-greased typewriters of Hollywood’s classic era,” reads the Lunchbox descriptor on the festival’s website.

Dredd by Pete Travis will have a Midnight Screening at the festival. The 3D Action film is a UK-USA-India-South Africa co-production. The film revolves around two judges: the incorruptible Dredd and the comely rookie Cassandra Anderson who find themselves battling the arch villain Ma-Ma in an unrelenting slaughter-fest.
