SAIFF-logoIndian filmmaker Richie Mehta’s Siddharth won the Grand Jury Prize at the South Asian International Film Festival (SAIFF) which concluded in New York recently. The filmmaker was also felicitated with the Best Director Award.

 While another filmmaker Kamal KM’s I.D took away the festival’s Jury Prize. The festival favourite Shubhashish Bhutiani’s Kush was awarded the Grand Jury Prize for Shorts.

Shilen Amin, founder, the South Asian International Film Festival, explained the intense, boundary-pushing art being the representative of the reason behind the SAIFF.

Kush has also won the Orizzonti Award for Best Short Film at Venice Film Festival 2013 and is long-listed for the Academy awards.
