One of the leading film festivals in the United Kingdom, Scotland’s Glasgow Film Festival 2019 will be held from February 20th to March 3rd. 

This year, the festival will hold three Indian premieres! Devashish Makhija’s ‘Bhonsle’, Vasan Bala’s ‘The Man Who Feels No Pain (Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota) and Sudipto Roy’s ‘Kia and Cosmos’.

Bhonsle 

Directed by Devashish Makhija, starring Manoj Bajpayee, the film focuses on the pressing question of what defines a ‘migrant’. What marks the boundaries of what makes one an ‘outsider’, and they way they are treated. The film has already received global praise across the globe. Set in the film city, Mumbai, India, the film is slated for a theatrical release in India later this month.

The Man Who Feels No Pain (Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota)

Directed by Vasan Bala, the film stars Gulshan Devaiah, Radhika Madan, debutant Abhimanyu Dassani, Mahesh Manjrekar and Jimit Trivedi. Produced by Ronnie Screwvala, it follows the story of a young man who has a rare condition called Congenital insensitivity to pain and strikes out on a quest to vanquish his foes.

Kia And Cosmos 

Directed by debutant Sudipto Roy, ‘Kia And Cosmos’ stars Swastika Mukherjee and Joy Sengupta as lead characters. The focus of the film is on the story of a 15-year-old girl, Kia and her investigative journey spurred by the murder of her neighbourhood cat.
