Pranav Harihar Sharma’s 1869, India’s first period short film, is all set to have its World Premiere at the Cannes Film Festival 2017 in the Short Film Corner.

The film, which had its exclusive invite-only premiere in Mumbai on October 2, 2016, has also been chosen as one of the five finalists in the ‘India Pavilion at Cannes Film Festival 2017 (Short Film Corner)’.

Sharing the good news, adman cum filmmaker Sharma said, “It’s my second film in Cannes. My first short film Watermelon was also screened at the Cannes Film Festival 2015 and it won several national and international awards including a Dadasaheb Phalke. Being featured in the Indian Pavilion in Cannes surely gives a big thrust to the film and I’m confident of taking it to the international audiences by tying up with the global distributors. We were waiting for this premiere, and now the film will be entered in all the major national and international film festivals.”
