Fans of GAME OF THRONES can look forward to visiting the Green Carpet a little earlier when Natalie Dormer steps onto the Sechseläutenpatz at 18:15 before presenting her most recent series PICNIC AT HANGING ROCK (20:15, Filmpodium) within the framework of “A Conversation with… session.

Away from the glamour of the Green Carpet, the Zurich Film Festival continues in a more sober and serious manner with the screening in the “Border Lines” section of Brazilian-born, Berlin-based Karim Ainouz’s Amnesty International Peace Prize-winning documentary ZENTRALFLUGHAFEN THF (21:45, Corso 3): Once a monument to the self-promotion of the Nazis, the Berlin Tempelhof Airport, a gigantic complex located in the centre of Berlin, has been used to accommodate refugees since 2015. Aïnouz followed those seeking a homeland for one year. A great little masterpiece!

Why do Italians always vote for Berlusconi? Academy Award-winner Paolo Sorrentino offers an answer with his mostly satirical, sometimes serious, but always entertaining biopic LORO (21:00, Piccadilly) – the film is a must-see, even if just for the magnificent opening shot.

The short film programme “SHORT FILMS FROM ITALY” presents a series of close-to-the-heart stories by five young Italian filmmakers who are fed up with superficial TV.

And Matteo Garrone takes us to the suburbs of Rome where a sympathetic loser gets caught in the claws of a drug addicted ‘friend’ in his film DOGMAN (15:00, Riffraff 1).
