kunal_nayyar_a_pThe actor, who plays an Indian nerd named ‘Rajesh Koothrappali’ on the popular sitcom ‘The Big Bang Theory’, is producing a documentary titled Beyond All Boundaries.

Directed by Sushrut Jain, the cricket-centric film will be showcased at MAMI. Turns out being a follower of the sport played a part in his decision. “Which fan wouldn’t want to be part of something that has cricket written all over it? Sushrut was completing the film when I was introduced to him and he wanted me to do the narration. But later I thought maybe I should get more involved in the creative process as well and help produce the film too,” says the 32-year-old.

Kunal has dabbled in writing earlier and is all set to make his film debut with the forthcoming Dr Cabbie. Produced by Salman Khan, the Canadian film is currently in post-production. So has he met the star? “Yes, we met once. A thorough gentleman he is. Being one of the faces of Hindi film industry across the globe, it was an humbling experience to get in touch with him,” adds Kunal.

The LA-based actor is currently writing a memoir and finds writing rather challenging. “I’ll say I find acting the least challenging of all the things I do because I’m trained in it. I spent seven years just learning the art. I find writing and producing challenging because they surprise me. And that’s also probably why I enjoy doing them so much,” sums up the LA-based actor.
