According to a notice on the NFDC website, The National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) has put on hold submission of new scripts.

The notice reads, “NFDC has taken a decision to not accept applications for production of films w.e.f. June 14, 2013 till further notice.” This is an action-step towards clearing  the backlog of current submissions at the earliest.

According to NFDC’s General Manager, their decision to hold the submissions of new scripts will not affect projects which are currently under production or pre-production. The hold is temporary and applications would be accepted as soon as the backlog clears. Two of the films funded by the NFDC currently under production are Anup Singh’s Qissa and Partho Sen-Gupta’s Sunrise.

Earlier, applications could be submitted round the year on the corporation’s website or at its corporate, regional and branch offices but movie-makers will now have to wait till the Cinema corporation clears reviewing its backlog.
