Q and PocketFilms Team Up to Promote Independent Cinema Online
Independent filmmaker Q (Qaushiq Mukherjee) who has already break grounds with his quirky film Gandu and national award-winning documentary Love in India has now come up with a brand new initiative called PocketOverdoseFilms.
This time he has collaborated with an online portal PocketFilms that will distribute not only Indian but also internationally acclaimed offbeat and quirky films. The Indie stuff belonging to various categories such as shorts, documentaries and music videos will be showcased by Q including his own films. Q and Pocketfilms have acquired films for the slate from Cannes Film Market, Marche du Film.
“I am excited to curate films that I love and get inspired by. There is a growing interest in independent films in India, and we need to watch more films that really challenge the existing modes of cinema, and tell stories in a postmodern context. PocketFilms is a portal dedicated to indie content, and I am certain that this slate will engage viewers and build new reference points,” mentioned Q, whose films have been selected in the international market and distributed all over.
He also said, “The distribution theories are being overhauled currently across the board, and I truly believe Internet is the real future for transgressive content.”
