Actress Richa Chadha who has just returned from the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne has been elected as one of the jury members of the Nara International Film Festival which will be happening in Nara, Japan. The Executive Director of Nara, Naomi Kawase is the winner of the Cannes Film Festival Grand Prix and has been the winner of many other such honors.

In December 2015 Chadha was a part of the jury of the Marrakech Film Festival headed by famous director Francis Ford Coppola.

The NARA film festival is the most spoken about festival across Asia and features in the top list of film festivals. Speaking on the festival, Richa said, “I am excited to go to the Nara Film Festival to be part of the jury. It’s a huge honour because I have been invited by none other than Naomi Kawase. I became friends with her during Marrakech last year. She’s a filmmaker of international repute. Nara is a beautiful historical city and it will be my first time there. I have been lying low because I was with what is my fourth big project for the year, and visiting this quaint town to watch cinema is a delightful getaway.”

The actress recently wrapped up the shoot of her upcoming Indo American movie “Love Soniya”, which also stars Freida Pinto.
