Richa Chadha is currently shooting for a brand new TV show called ‘Queens of Comedy’. This will also mark her debut on television. The show will be aired on TLC and will have Richa sharing space with comedians Kaneez Surka and Rohan Joshi. The trio will hunt for the next best English female stand-up comedian in India.

The show intrigued Richa simply because it’s her funny side, she feels is the least explored except for her role as the iconic ‘Bholi Punjaban’, which is by far one of the most badass comedic female characters in recent history. Now taking her love for comedy and to strut her comedic skills, the actress has taken on a new challenge for herself. Not new to the stage, having started her career with plays, Richa tried her hands at Comedy Improv at a popular venue in Mumbai to showcase her comedy skills to a live audience. Richa is always excited to try something new, and this new form of entertaining her audiences definitely had her ecstatic.

Speaking about it Richa said,“I am judging a comedy talent hunt and I wanted to see how it feels for the contestants to perform on stage. Making people laugh is a great way to live. I just wanted to see what an open mic event is like. My friend Kaneez Surka got me a slot; I performed impromptu and enjoyed it. I have a lot of respect for people who do this. I was nervous, but the comics encouraged me to go ahead. I was scared I’d forget my lines, so I wrote stuff on my hands. It was my little cheat sheet.”
