One of the eminent cinematographers in India, Ashok Mehta breathed his last today in Mumbai. He was 65 and was suffering from acute lung cancer.

Ashok Mehta has given the Indian Cinema some real jewels with evocative films like Bandit Queen, Gaja Gamini and Khalnayak. A mentor for many aspiring cinematographers, the Pandolin team grieves the loss of a man who was not only well endowed with creativity but also spiritually inclined towards many aspects of life.

A master with the camera, Pandolin had interviewed Mr. Mehta where he spoke about his craft, karma and life through the eyes of an artist.

May his soul rest in peace.
