Hindi film ‘Gauru: Journey of Courage’ won two awards at the 13th China International Children’s Film Festival.

Child actor Ritvik Sahore won the award for Best Performance in Acting, while singer-actress Ila Arun was adjudged the Best Adult Performer for her role in the movie, read an official statement.

Ritvik was last seen playing younger Omkar  (played by Aparshakti Khurrana in adulthood) in the popular Aamir Khan blockbuster Dangal.

The film is produced by the Children’s Film Society, India.

Shot in Rajasthan, the film, directed by Ramkishan Nandram Choyal, tells the story of a 13-year-old boy named Gauru who undertakes a difficult task to take his sick grandmother to her village though he has not seen the place. The film shows the child’s arduous journey in the desert areas of Rajasthan to reach his grandmother’s village just to make her happy though his elders advise him not to go there.
