Saint Dracula goes to the Oscars while Barfi out of the race 3D

‘Saint Dracula 3D’ directed by Rupesh Paul has been nominated in the Best Feature Film category of the 85th Annual Academy Awards. It is the first ever stereoscopic 3D movie in Dracula series, and will be contesting with the likes of ‘Skyfall’, ‘The Hobbit’, ‘The Amazing Spiderman’ and ‘Paranormal Activity 4’. The film’s music and background score by Sreevalsan J Menon have already made into the nomination list.

India’s official entry to the prestigious awards, ‘Barfi’, did not make it to the final list. Another film ‘Akashathinte Niram’ ( Colour of the Sky) by Malayalam film director Dr. Biju, has been nominated in the Best Film category. India has also got two nominations in the animation category, ‘Delhi Safari’ and ‘Hey Krishna’.

‘Saint Dracula 3D’ is a different take at the age old tale of Dracula. The movie was premiered in the American Film Market in California on November 2, 2011. It has also been premiered in the Cannes Film Festival 2011. Sohan Roy, the director of the Hollywood film ‘Dam 999’ is the project designer.

 Director Rupesh Paul has already been making waves with the announcement of his new project ‘Kamasutra 3D’.
