Akash Srivatsa’s short film Sulle Sathya has been selected for the Short Film Corner of the 66th Cannes Film Festival. The film is a realistic take on life in Bangalore city. It chronicles the struggles of one man’s search to find answers to questions that plague him day and night. It is said to be a modern-day adaptation of the French short story ‘The False Gems’ by Guy De Maupassant.

Akash has earlier assisted Kannada actor & filmmaker Ramesh Aravind in his directorial ‘Accident’

The film was shot in seven days with a budget of Rs5 lakh.  It stars Mahesh, a former associate of Ramesh, Amitha Rao and Harleen who hails from Mumbai.

Sulle Sathya is likely to be screened on May 18 or 19 at the Cannes Film Festival.
