Suniel Shetty has recently said yes to Ajay Phansekar’s untitled Marathi film. Confirming the news, Suniel said, “I have said a yes to the film. It’s the story of a young boy and his mother and their intense relationship with an upright cop, the role that I am playing. I am happy to be a part of this film as it has a different approach. Though I have given it a nod, I am yet to do the required research for my role. I will do it post the promotions of ‘Koyelaanchal’.”

The actor is likely to buy the rights of the film as well. “The script is so engaging that I have given a nod on the condition that Ajay remakes it in Hindi and sells me the rights for its Kannada remake,” he added. However, the actor is not keen in divulging much about the film now. “I would not be able to talk much about the project as it is too early to do so and also, I want Ajay to make the announcements,” he said.

“I think it is perfect for me to start acting in Marathi films. I am well versed with the language and having stayed in Maharashtra for so long, I speak Marathi more than Kannada,”, he said referring to the growing popularity of Marathi films in the country.

Apart from his own Bollywood debut, Sunil is also excited about his daughter Athiya Shetty’s Bollywood debut ‘Hero’ with Aditya Pancholi’s son Sooraj Pancholi, this year.He said, “I feel on top of the world right now. It is Salman Khan’s first production and Athiya couldn’t have got a better break in the industry. Salman and I share a great rapport and it feels as if I am producing the film. Salman had never met Athiya before the first day of the shoot and it explains a lot the kind of faith he has in her. And I am sure she won’t let him down.”
