Still from Rukh

Manish Mundra, Founder of Drishyam Films and Producer of Rukh, says, “We are very excited to present the first promo of Rukh to the world. It is a very special film for us since it is a story we have mentored from the start with the Drishyam-Sundance Screenwriters Lab. This trailer gives a true insight to the deeply emotional texture of the film, as well as a sneak peek into the melody of Khidki beautifully sung and composed by Amit Trivedi. We are all waiting to hear what people think about it.”

Atanu Mukherjee, Director of Rukh, says, “Rukh is an intimate portrait of a family, inspired from a few real life events and characters. Torn apart by grief, brought together by loss — this family deals with life in ways that we can all relate to. I’m really happy that I have got to make my debut film with Drishyam Films and now eagerly looking forward to the release of the film.”

Sunil Lulla, Managing Director, Eros International Media Ltd adds, “We are looking forward to release another content-driven gem like Rukh, an apt follow up to our forthcoming release, the much-appreciated and highly-anticipated Newton.”

Rukh was a part of the inaugural Drishyam-Sundance Institute Screenwriters Lab 2015 and a part of NFDC India’s Film Bazaar Recommends 2016.

A former Berlinale Talent (2015), Atanu Mukherjee is an alumnus of Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute. He has also directed the short film “The Gatekeeper”, which was a part of South Asian International Film Festival, New York 2014 and won Best Short Fiction Award at IDSFFK Kerala 2015. Drishyam Films’ other upcoming films include Amit Masurkar’s critically acclaimed Newton starring Rajkummar Rao, and Nila Madhab Panda’s Kadvi Hawa starring Sanjay Mishra and Ranvir Shorey.
