Ritesh Batra’s The Lunchbox is releasing by Disney UTV on September 20 and Bollywood producer-director Karan Johar will present it.

Guneet Monga, the producer of the film stated that the film will release across the country and won’t be limited to only major cities.“We sold the film world over in just 48 hours after its world premiere at Cannes. Now I feel happy to present the film to our own audiences. It’s all the more heartening and motivating to get support on your home turf. When fellow filmmakers in Bollywood accept an independent film and lend their support, it helps the film reach out to wider audiences.”

The Lunchbox previously won Grand Rail d’Or, an audience choice award at Cannes Critics Week this year. Ritesh Batra also won the Best Director award for the film at Odessa International Film Festival.

Featuring Irrfan Khan, Nimrat Kaur and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Indian Cinema lovers will be able to watch The Lunchbox in theaters on September 20.
