Follow these seven tips to convert that fantastic idea into a strong script.

Research a lot. Be true to the milieu and time the story is set in.

Follow the character and don’t be rigid with the plot you might have had in your head before starting to write.

Writing your idea as a short story first always helps.

As they say, writing is actually about rewriting. The first draft will always be just a blueprint. Be ready for at least 5 drafts.

Choosing between too much description and too little, always err on the side of too little. Nobody reads it anyway, except the assistant directors making the prop lists.

Always think of alternate beginnings and endings after done with a satisfactory draft. Sometimes a surprisingly good idea pops up.

Don't rely on such shortcut lists and do your own thing.
